| The Laboratory is the diagnostic hub of Cross
Timbers. Tests performed include fecal examinations for
parasites or bacterial imbalance; blood evaluation for
heartworms, feline leukemia and immunodefiency viruses, ear swab
evaluation for bacteria, yeast and ear mites, tumor cell
evaluation, urine analysis for chemical abnormalities,
infections crystals and many more. |

Additionally, Cross Timbers Animal Hospital has
the capacity of evaluating blood chemistries and cell blood
counts (CBC's) within minutes, to provide our critically ill
patients with aggressive and accurate treatment regimens. We
also strongly advocate laboratory testing prior to and elective
surgical procedures to evaluate kidney and liver function before
exposure to anesthetics. Geriatric blood profiles are encouraged
annually to detect early organ malfunction or compromise,
hopefully avoiding sudden and possible permanent organ failure
with diet, exercise and drug manipulation. |
