Additionally, Cross Timbers Animal Hospital has the capacity of evaluating blood chemistries and cell blood counts (CBC's) within minutes, to provide our critically ill patients with aggressive and accurate treatment regimens. We also strongly advocate laboratory testing prior to and elective surgical procedures to evaluate kidney and liver function before exposure to anesthetics. Geriatric blood profiles are encouraged annually to detect early organ malfunction or compromise, hopefully avoiding sudden and possible permanent organ failure with diet, exercise and drug manipulation.
